Sharing Your Faith with Your Children (Part 5 of 11)
Titus 2:7-8 says, “In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.”
It’s one thing to teach your children with words, but a lasting impact on their lives will stem from watching how you live yours. Model godly living to them. In doing so, they will grow up seeing the immeasurable benefits of living a life devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ. It will inspire them to continue to do the same throughout their entire lives.
So many children have rebelled against their parents and everything their parents taught them because their parents weren’t living out the values they attempted to pass on to them. We all know the saying, “Practice what you preach.” That definitely applies here! We can’t expect our children to do things, believe certain things, and live in particular ways if we are not willing to do so ourselves.
