Prayer Focus
Pray for God to strengthen marriages and reveal his glory.
Devotional Thought
The Bible teaches that marriage is to be a permanent relationship of one man and one woman freely and totally committed to each other as companions for life. The Lord declared that a man shall leave the household of his father and mother and unite with his wife in the building of a home, and the two shall become one flesh. A good marriage requires love, commitment, intimacy, good communication, humility, patience, and self-sacrifice. A Godly marriage should reflect the kind of loving relationship that Christ has with his Church.
Practical Moment
If you are married:
- Take a moment to pray for the well-being of your spouse.
- Ask God to help you to be more sensitive to your spouse’s needs.
- Ask God to heal any issues that oppose your marriage.
If you are unmarried and desire to be married:
- Ask God for a spouse who loves him and loves you.
- Ask God to prepare you and your future spouse spiritually, emotionally, and physically for marriage.
Whether you are married or unmarried:
- Pray that God will protect all marriages from demonic assaults.
- Pray that all marriages will bring glory and honor to God and joy and fulfillment to those who are married.
