Scripture
“Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,”
—Psalms 103:2–4 (NKJV)
Reflection
Salvation is one of the richest words in the Christian faith. It includes the forgiveness of sins, but it is broader than that. In Jesus Christ, God acts for our good in every part of life. He reconciles us to Himself, breaks the power of sin, heals what has been wounded, and begins restoring what has been disordered by sin and suffering. His saving work is for the total person.
What God promised and foreshadowed in the Scriptures comes to its fullness in Christ. Through His death and resurrection, we are forgiven, redeemed, and brought into the life of God. A prayer for salvation and wholeness, then, is not only for those first coming to Christ. It is also a prayer that the saving work of Jesus would continue to unfold in our lives and make us whole.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to save us.
Thank You for carrying our sins and making a way for us to be forgiven, restored, and made whole.
You know every part of our lives, even the places where we still need Your mercy.
Please come into the places in us that are hurting and bring healing.
Bring freedom where sin, fear, or pain has gotten a grip on us.
Lift guilt from us. Renew what feels weak. Repair what has been damaged.
Bring Your peace into the parts of our lives that feel unsettled.
Shine Your light into places that feel dark and confusing.
Breathe new life into every part of us that needs Your touch.
Teach us to live in all that You have done for us.
Help us receive Your grace more fully and walk in it day by day.
Thank You that in You there is forgiveness, mercy, redemption, and new life.
Keep working in us, Lord, and make us whole.
In Your name we pray, amen.
