Scripture
“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.”
—Psalm 46:1 (NKJV)
Reflection
There are times when life feels heavier than we know how to carry. We face pressures, fears, losses, needs, and situations that seem larger than our strength. In those moments, we do not have to pretend that we are fine or try to manage everything on our own. Scripture reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. He is not distant from our need. He is near us in it.
A prayer for God’s help is a prayer of honest dependence. We bring Him what is wearing us down and ask Him to meet us with strength, peace, healing, wisdom, and provision. Sometimes His help comes by changing the situation. Sometimes it comes by sustaining us in the middle of it. Either way, we are not left to face life alone. The Lord knows what we are dealing with, and He is able to help.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, we come to You as our healer and our provider. You know what we are dealing with. Nothing about our situation surprises You. Please surround us with Your love and power, and may Your Holy Spirit guide this time of prayer.
For those who are worn down, give them strength for today. For those who are anxious, I ask You to calm their hearts and give them Your peace. For those who are sick or hurting, please bring healing. Mend what has been damaged. Restore what has been depleted.
For those who are facing a financial crisis, open doors. Give wisdom for decisions, and provide what is needed.
And Lord, if someone needs a miracle, we ask You to move mightily. Step into the situation. Make a way where there seems to be no way. Do what only You can do.
Lord, we receive Your peace, Your healing, and Your provision. Help us never to forget that You are with us. We put our trust in You and place everything that weighs us down in Your loving and capable hands.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
