Scripture
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
—John 15:5 (NKJV)
Reflection
God is the source of life, health, strength, joy, provision, and every other good thing we need. We are not self-sustaining. We were created to live in daily dependence on Him. Jesus says, “Without Me you can do nothing.” His words remind us where our life and strength truly come from.
This kind of dependence is deeply encouraging. The God who calls us to rely on Him is faithful, wise, and good. What we cannot do in our own strength, He is able to do in and through us. Without Him, we can do nothing. With Him, we can do all that He calls us to do. Nothing is impossible for Him. As we stay close to Him, trust Him, and draw from His life, He gives us grace for each day and strength to do His will.
Prayer
Lord, we come to You today acknowledging our need for You.
You are the source of our life, our strength, our peace, and our provision.
Every good thing we have comes from You.
Forgive us for the times we have leaned on our own understanding as though we could live apart from You.
Teach us to depend on You more fully.
Remind us that without You, we can do nothing.
When we are weak, be our strength.
When we are weary, sustain us by Your grace.
When we are uncertain, guide our steps.
Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, and keep us abiding in Christ.
May His life shape our thoughts, our choices, and our actions.
Teach us to live each day with open hands and trusting hearts.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Take a Moment
