Scripture
“Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
—Psalm 51:10
Reflection
Repentance literally means a change of mind. It is a turning of the heart back to God. We come before Him with honesty and humility, not hiding behind appearances, excuses, or spiritual language. The Lord already sees us fully, and yet He still invites us to come.
Repentance is not meant to leave us weighed down by shame. It is meant to bring us back to God and open us to His restoring grace. In Christ, forgiveness is real, cleansing is possible, and renewal is offered to those who come in truth.
Prayer
Lord, we come before You honestly.
You see every part of our lives—nothing is hidden from You.
Search our hearts and show us what needs to change.
Where we’ve sinned, please forgive us.
Where we’ve drifted, draw us back.
Where our words, our choices, or our attitudes have not honored You, we ask You to cleanse us.
Create in us a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within us.
Do a deeper work within us.
Holy Spirit, help us to turn from sin and walk in truth and obedience.
Thank You that Your mercy is new every morning.
Thank You that in Christ we are forgiven and restored.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Take a Moment
Where is God calling you to return more fully to Him?
If this prayer was a blessing to you, consider sharing it with someone else. May your day be filled with the peace and presence of God.
In Christ,
