Scripture
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
—Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
Reflection
The cross stands at the center of the Christian faith. It is where we see the holiness of God, the seriousness of sin, and the depth of divine love all at once. Jesus did not go to the cross because we deserved it. He gave Himself for us. The cross shows us how deeply God loves us and how far His mercy reaches.
The cross brings us back to the heart of the gospel. We remember that our forgiveness was purchased at great cost. We remember that Jesus took our place, bore our sin, and opened the way for us to be reconciled to God. As we reflect on the cross, gratitude rises in our hearts, and love for Christ grows deeper.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for the cross.
Thank You for loving us and giving Yourself for us.
You took our place and bore what we could not carry.
At the cross, You made a way for us to be forgiven and brought near to God.
You bore our sins, and through Your suffering, You opened the way for peace and healing.
Help us never to treat the cross lightly.
Keep before us the cost of our redemption and the greatness of Your love.
Fill our hearts with gratitude for all You have done.
Teach us to live in a way that honors Your sacrifice.
Thank You that the cross was not the end.
Through Your death and resurrection, we have forgiveness, peace, and new life.
In Your name we pray, amen.
