Scriptures
Psalms 23 and 91; Matthew 6:9-13
Prayer Focus
Pray that God will protect and deliver you from evil.
Devotional Thought
God does not promise us exemption from the challenges and trials of this evil world, but he has promised to be with us (Psalm 23:4). In fact, he will never leave nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8 and Hebrews 13:5). God’s presence in our lives can rescue us from all kinds of harm (Psalm 91). He is a deliverer who loves us and cares about what we experience in life. We can ask him in confidence for his salvation and protection.
Practical Moment
Talk to your friends and loved ones about some of the things that have caused fear in your life. How do today’s Bible verses speak to you? Do you know any children who are experiencing fear today? Encourage them with the assurance of God’s presence and power in their lives. Make the following confession throughout the day: “God is greater than _____. He is with me and will protect me form the evil one.”
