A small donation to the ministry will help us spread the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.
The first three chapters of Paul's Letter to the Ephesians have a great deal to teach us about who we are in Christ and what we have in Christ. The foundation of our identity as believers is our position in Christ. To fully embrace our true identity in Christ, we must first trust what Jesus did for us in his death and Resurrection. Second, we must believe and accept what God says we are rather than who others say we are. The following list (written in the first person and based on Ephesians 1-3) is your true identity in Christ. I invite you to repeat these truths out loud on a regular basis.
Ephesians 1:1 | I am a saint. |
Ephesians 1:3 | I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. |
Ephesians 1:4-5 | I am chosen and predestined for adoption to sonship by the Heavenly Father |
Ephesians 1:6 | I am accepted by God and a recipient of his grace. |
Ephesians 1:7 | I am redeemed and forgiven in Christ. |
Ephesians 1:11 | I have a wonderful inheritance of spiritual riches in Christ. |
Ephesians 1:13-14 | I am indwelled and sealed by the Holy Spirit who guarantees my inclusion into the family of God. |
Ephesians 1:15-18 | I have access to spiritual wisdom and insight in Christ by the Holy Spirit. |
Ephesians 1:19-21 | I participate in the Resurrection and Ascension of Christ because of the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. |
Ephesians 1:22-23 | As a member of the Body of Christ I am united to the Lord and represent him on earth. |
Ephesians 2:5-6 | I have been raised to new life in Christ and seated with him in heavenly places |
Ephesians 2:8-9 | I have been saved by grace through faith in Christ. |
Ephesians 2:10 | I am God's workmanship - a masterpiece and a new creation - in Christ. |
Ephesians 2:13 | I have been brought near to God by the blood of Christ. |
Ephesians 2:16 | I am reconciled to God through the cross of Jesus Christ. |
Ephesians 2:18 | I have access to God by the Holy Spirit. |
Ephesians 2:19 | I am a part of God's family. |
Ephesians 3:6 | I am an heir of God. |
Ephesians 3:6 | I am a member of the Body of Christ. |
Ephesians 3:6 | I am a partaker in the promises of God in Christ. |
Ephesians 3:10 | I am a mirror that displays the glory of God to the natural and supernatural worlds. |
Ephesians 3:20 | God's supernatural power is at work in me. |
Ephesians 3:21 | My life displays the glory of God. |

Thank you for sowing the time and prayer into outlining the identity of Christ! I have sowed an appreciation seed as I plan to use this biblically sound data for my American Heritage Girls (AGH) Troop devotional discussion.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for sowing into this work! I’m truly encouraged to hear that the devotion on our identity in Christ will be part of your American Heritage Girls Troop discussion. It’s a blessing to know that the message resonates with you and can serve as a resource in leading these young girls to understand who they are in Christ. May your time with them be filled with meaningful conversations and spiritual growth. Thank you again for your support and for allowing this devotion to be part of your ministry!
