New Testament prophecy is for the purpose of edification, exhortation and comfort. It is a wonderful Spiritual gift. It is not for the purpose of fortune-telling or promoting someone's personal agenda, though. New Testament prophecy is from the loving heart of God and seeks to inspire people to walk in his will and ways. Don't be duped by the false visions and fantastic claims of charlatans and self-appointed prophets who presume to speak for God but do not have his Spirit. I have recently encountered some who have promoted all kinds of foolishness in the name of prophecy. However, to prophesy is to speak the mind of God with the heart of God. Anything other than this goal is fleshly at best and demonic at worst. Ask God for discernment and confirmation before receiving questionable prophetic words into your spirit, and certainly dismiss anything that is inconsistent with the written Word of God! Here are a few questions to ask before accepting a prophetic word:
- Is the source credible? What is the prophet's reputation and track record?
- Does the prophetic word align with Scripture? If not, dismiss it immediately.
- Does the prophetic word bear witness with my spirit? Do I sense a comfort or peace about the message?
- Does the prophetic word reflect God's character? Does it honor him?
- Is the prophetic word edifying? Will it bring peace or confusion?
By asking these questions and seeking guidance from God through prayer and discernment, you can approach prophetic words with wisdom and clarity.

Yeah I like this post Elder Graves. It relates to your video ” How to interpret the Bible correctly part 1″
My respond:
: I affirm my faith in the Bible.
I believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.
(West Angeles Church Cogic Members” Manual) I agree and have faith with one of the chief emphases of the Pentecostal tradition is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost (spirit) and supernatural manifestations of the spirit.
I believe that the Baptism of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:4, KJV is given to believers who ask for him.
Acts 2:4 takes place in Jerusalem city in West Asia , on plateau in Judaean Mountains between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea.
Acts 2:4 The meaning of text is (speaking in tongues )
One of the prayers I learned and you can use letting God you know you need the Holy Ghost and asking God to receive the Holy Ghost and to fill you with the Holy Ghost.
Me: The words I have spoken and speak and write are life and a Body and is to profit withal
1 John 3:19 KJV
[19] And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
1 John 3:19 takes place in Judea a Roman province
1 John 3:19 The text meaning is ( proof)
(West Angeles Church Cogic Members’ Manual)
I agree and practice Speaking in tongues is a result of being baptized in the Holy Spirit. Tongues is the sign that the Lord has chosen for evidence of his power of the Spirit. Our human spirit is touched by the Holy Spirit and we speak the requests of our hearts to God. The term “praying in the Spirit” most of the time expresses a prayer in tongues.
I believe that the gift of tongues is one of the nine gifts of the spirit.
