Intimacy with God, Part 4 of 4
The fourth and final ingredient for intimacy with God that we will examine is that of time. Like all other relationships, our relationship with the Lord requires that we spend time with him. When we spend time with the Lord, we learn to recognize his voice and to hear his plans for our lives. When we spend time with the Lord, we also begin to understand what makes him happy, what displeases him, and how he views situations. As we walk with the Lord on a daily basis, we begin to open up more to him and to surrender our selfish goals, desires, and ambitions. Our lives will increasingly demonstrate love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, and self-control. There is no depth to which we cannot go in God if we will spend time with him and allow him to reveal himself to us. The All-powerful, All-knowing, Everywhere-present God wants to be our friend. What an honor! Let us seek to love and obey him with all our hearts, minds, and strength (Deuteronomy 6:5). God bless you.
