Book Summary
Genesis is a book about “beginnings” or “origins.” It gives an account of the creation of the universe, the fall of the human race because of disobedience in the Garden of Eden, God’s judgment of sin through a worldwide flood, and his salvation of a single family. From there it tells us about the multiplication and spread of the nations and the calling of Abraham from whom God would raise up a chosen nation. Genesis ends with the story of the rise of Joseph (Jacob’s son) to prominence in Egypt.
