Faith and God’s Character
Many times we think that faith is a belief for God to do something. But faith is more than a belief that God will do what we ask. Faith is a confident, unwavering trust in God himself. Our faith rests on the nature and character of God. We have faith in God because he is a good God. And because God is good, we can expect him to do the things that are best for us. Therefore, we can say with David, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me” (Psalm 23:4). Faith enables us to rest in God despite the circumstances. Because of the Lord’s faithfulness, we can put our trust in him completely. Because God is so trustworthy, our needs are already met, even before we ask for his help. I challenge you simply to trust the Lord with all your heart, and you will see greater victory in your life.
