Reflection

God does not leave His people weak and empty-handed. He gives the Holy Spirit to strengthen us, empower us, and help us live as witnesses of Jesus Christ. Spiritual power is not about impressing others or drawing attention to ourselves. It is the Spirit’s strength at work in us so that we can live faithfully, speak boldly, endure hardship, and serve in the name of Christ.

We need this power because the Christian life cannot be lived in our own strength. We need power to resist temptation, to remain faithful under pressure, to love people well, and to bear witness to Jesus in a world that often resists Him. A prayer for spiritual power asks God to empower us by His Spirit for the life and mission to which He has called us.

Prayer

Father, empower us by Your Holy Spirit.

We do not want to rely on our own strength.
We need power from above to live in a way that honors Christ.

Give us courage where we have been timid.
Give us endurance where we have grown weary.
Give us faithfulness where we have felt weak.

Empower us to obey You.
Empower us to serve others well.
Empower us to speak of Jesus with boldness and love.

Where fear has held us back, make us strong.
Where discouragement has drained us, renew us.
Where pressure has shaken us, make us steadfast.

Let Your power work in us, not for self-display, but for holy living, loving service, and faithful witness.
Make us useful in Your hands.
Let our lives point clearly to Jesus Christ.

Thank You that You do not leave us to live this life alone.
Thank You that Your Spirit gives strength for all You call us to do.
