Scripture
“Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord! ”

Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.”

Reflection
Trusting God’s timing means trusting more than His schedule. It means trusting His wisdom. God does what is best, and He does it in the way and at the time that will bring Him the greatest glory and bring us the greatest good. What feels like a delay to us may actually be part of His loving wisdom.
Sometimes God works in an order we would not have chosen. He may address one issue before another because He knows what needs to be healed, changed, or established first. He sees what we do not see, and He understands what each step is preparing us for. What seems slow or indirect to us may actually be the most merciful and fruitful path.
A prayer for trust in God’s timing asks Him to help us submit to His wisdom, not just His calendar. It is a prayer to trust His process and His purpose, even when we would have arranged things differently. We ask Him for patience, humility, and the grace to believe that His way is better than our own.
Prayer
Father, teach us to trust Your timing and Your wisdom.
You know what is best for us, and You know the right time and the right way to bring it about.
Forgive us for the times we have wanted Your gifts without trusting Your wisdom.
When Your answers seem delayed, help us believe that You are still working.
When You take us in a direction we did not expect, help us trust that Your way is better than ours.
Keep us from forcing what You have not opened.
Keep us from demanding what we are not yet ready to handle well.
Teach us to trust the way You are working.
If something else needs to be healed first, give us grace to receive that.
If something deeper needs to change first, help us not resist Your hand.
If You are building patience, character, wisdom, or freedom in us, help us cooperate with what You are doing.
Thank You that You are never late and never wrong.
Teach us to trust that everything You do is wise and good.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
