Psalm 46 is about the reliability of God. God is reliable; he is always there with us and he is also there for us (see also Psalm 23:4). God is a very present (i.e., "an ever-present") help in time of trouble. Psalm 46 reminds us that God is more than able to bring order out of chaos, so we can respond to him with complete trust and confidence. God is always available to us, no matter how difficult the situation. Our God invites us to call on him and he will surely answer us (see Psalm 50:15; Psalm 91:14-16; Psalm 145:18-20; Isaiah 65:24; Jeremiah 29:11-13; Jeremiah 33:3; and Micah 7:7).
